Anything else?[]

After a few days of researching, I believe I've gotten almost all of the connections between Okayama Prefecture and Tenchi names or locations. "Almost", as in I believe there are still a few more that are just a bit more difficult to find/confirm on the Internet. Specifically, I'm talking about the namesake for Kamidake as well as the real-life inspiration for Tenchi's school in the OVA.

Beginning with Kamidake, I found this now-archived blog that goes through a Tenchi "pilgrimage" and on this specific page (which details the journey to Taro Shrine), it mentions that the shrine is "is located in Kamidake (= Takeshi Himi), Konkocho, Asakuchi City". I've learned that Konko-cho is the name for one of the former towns that merged with Asakuchi City, but I don't know what to make of the use of the word "Kamidake" (火美猛) in this context.

There is also this photo collage of Tenchi Muyo! locations, and the captions for one of them (again for Taro Shrine) reading "Signs near the entrance indicating "Yosho Hill" & "Kamidake" tunnel". So we can be certain that "Kamidake" is near Taro shrine, but we can't be sure what exactly "Kamidake" is exactly: either the name of a sub-division of Konko, Asakuchi; or, it's the name of a tunnel.

The same photo collage from above also claims it found the real life inspiration for Tenchi's high school in Kurashiki, though obviously Kurashiki is a big city and has several high schools, so I'm not too confident about this one.

I don't expect much help in this regard but I might as well make this call to action for anyone to scrounge up any information that I haven't found myself. DishonorableKnight (talk) 05:07, 1 May 2021 (UTC)

I am not able to help you out, but you can ask for help in the Useless Tenchi forum if you wish. Antvasima (talk) 15:09, 1 May 2021 (UTC)
