Kai Masaki is Kiriko's younger brother, as well as Seina's best friend. He was the one who often fixed (or constructed new) bicycles that would be wrecked as a result of Seina's bad luck.
At the end of the series, it was learned Seina's sister Yoshiko was to soon be Kai's wife.
