Z (Z, Zetto) is the nineteenth episode of the third Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki OVA.
Synopsis
Tenchi with his Light Hawk Wings, looks in astoundment as part of the Earth has been destroyed and that Z was the cause of it. Z introduces himself and tells his plans to destroy the universe to Tenchi, and then he destroys the moon. Back on Earth, the Misaki residents are all shown to be safe and sound in Ryo-Ohki. The fight between Tenchi and Z then continues and Z manages to somehow disable Tenchi's Light Hawk Wings and sends him flying to Jupiter. When Z tried to finish the job, he's stopped by Tokimi, who erects a barrier around Tenchi. However, Z still manages to penetrate and disable it with the help of "The Counter-Actor". This prompts Sasami to transform into Tsunami and intervene. Soon Washu arrives and the trio, now the Choushin, then tries to stabilize the chaos that has been caused. While this was going on, Z explains the backstory of the trio and their ultimate goal. The backstory of Z is revealed, as is that Tenchi has to die in order to lose the power of the Light Hawk Wings. Ryoko then arrives on the scene and begins to attack Z. The two skirmish against each other until Tenchi sacrifices himself to protect Ryoko from a fatal attack by being sliced in half.

Seemingly dead, Tenchi is actually transported back in time to a besieged planet where he runs into a little girl who is under attack by unknown forces, who cries out "I'm a Kagato, too!". Tenchi manages to save and console the little girl until they're separated once again. At that moment, Tenchi is revealed to still be alive, and he then unleashes a large amount of power, causing dimensional rifts in all of the dimensions. The Choushin try and stabilize this chaotic outbreak, but Tokimi is attacked by The Counter-Actor, Misaki Masaki Jurai. As this goes on, Tenchi meets Kami Tenchi, who guides him out of his predicament. From there, Kami Tenchi stops Misaki Masaki by negating her power and kissing her, thereby saving her. Now with that all settled with, the Choushin elucidate how they came to be, their goal, and why Tenchi is a key figure to it. Tokimi regrets how she treated Z and sends him to be reborn where he was most happy. Also, to repair the irregularities that were caused by the whole encounter with Z, the Choushin turn back time to just before Mihoshi sent her brother a message. Ryoko stops her, but instead of Z sending an edited revision of it, Fuku and Noike from the future do, for Fuku wanted to meet Seina and Noike wanted to meet Tenchi again.
