The Renza Federation is an an alliance of galactic nations separate from the larger Galactic Federation of Jurai and Seniwa.
History
The Renza Federation have many differences from the Galactic Federation. They are kept apart by some core beliefs, worlds that differ greatly from those in the Galactic Federation, and also heavy Space Pirate activity.
There are also worlds where "magic" has taken the place of science. Science does not work on these planets. Not even Washu can fathom the workings of magical systems. When she opened up one of the knights to study it, she realized part of it ran on magic, because she had no idea how that part worked.
It is headed by five kingdoms
- The Kihaku Kingdom (Amber Cavalry Kingdom - 騎珀 )
- As of GXP Novel 17, Hakuren is the 1st princess, the king has not yet been named in the novels.
- The Kasen Kingdom (Fire Spring kingdom - 火泉)
- As of GXP Novel 17, The king is Hakuten Mashiro Kasen and the Crown Prince is Enten Shinjyu Kasen, his son is Ichika, father of Karen, making her third in line to the throne.
- The Suire Kingdom (Green Spirit Kingdom - 翠霊)
- As of GXP Novel 17, The king is Suiten Hyoua Suire. Suiren is the Fifth Princess
- The Masui Kingdom (Polished Water kingdom - 磨水)
- As of GXP Novel 17, Gyokuren is the unseated queen, they also have a proxy representative named Machi Kasiyou Kigiyoku.
- The Kaou Kingdom (Sakura Flower Kingdom 花櫻 ), led by elves.
- As of GXP Novel 17, The king is Ranga Baruwemuru Souka
30,000 Years ago, five ancient mecha were found on an abandoned planet, Terra, along with other robot technology. These five mecha each had 3rd Generation Royal Tree Seeds in them, like Zinv's seed. They were split between the "Five Legendary Heroes" and these five formed the base of the kingdoms that formed the federation.
Terra is considered sacred and kept in a natural pristine state, Originally, only one underground building, used for meetings for the heads of state was used. It has expanded to also be the center of training and education, sort of their version of the Galaxy Academy.
The Renza Knights
They have, through a questionable cloning procedure, expanded the number of mecha and the Renza citizens are known for the reverence they hold for the knights. There are four normal levels of knights, determined by size and power.
- Weak Knights (Keiki - 軽騎)
- Earthly Knights (Chiki - 地騎 )
- Aquius Knights (Mizuki - 水騎 )
- Heavenly Knights (Tenki - 天騎 )
- Zinv is the size of Heavenly Knight but its power makes it a "Godly Knight" (Kamiki - 神騎)

The original "Renza Agents"

The most prominent characters from Renza featured in Tenchi Muyo! GXP and Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki are Gyokuren, Hakuren, Karen, and Suiren. They are members of Renza royalty that banded together to infiltrate Jurai and find a solution to their space pirate problem. Their first plan was to find out how to steal a Juraian Treeship, once they found that the treeships bonded with their owners and could not be stolen they switched their focus to Seina Yamada, who proved effective against pirates. It was definitely decided when he becam partnered with Zinv, who the entire Federation would revere as the original Godly Knight that came before all of theirs. Seto actually knew who they were and what they were planning but she values skill and wanted to keep them close. Known as part of Seto's Hyena Troops, also known as "Seto Scouts" by some, they were barely used in the anime, but in the novels they served a number of purposes for Seto. They were a secret guard for Seina at the academy, part of the two ships crew and even served as Amane's maids in her home.

Souren

His full name is Souren Kariyuuku Kaou. The commander of the troops that will battle the pirates. He is an elf and a prince of the Kaou Kingdom. Haruken bows deeply to him when she introduces Seina to him. Seina is instantly flustered by his beauty and has to be told that he is not a woman. Even after being told, he doesn't seem to be completely convinced. Souren is actually extremely feminine and may eventually decide to change his gender. Seina is happy that Souren recognizes him as himself, Seina, most Renza people he meets think of him more as "Zinv's pilot."
Kaguya
Her full name is Kaguya Ravel. A Knight pilot and one of the magical race assistants to Haruken's group. She is the Ogre tribe leader, the captain of a fleet of armored cavalry units.
Sajyu
Her full name is Sajyu Jumendo. She is the captain of the fleet flagship and a member of the Dryad tribe. Her tribe were demons who sucked the living essence from others and is a seductress with a strong sexual appetite. She spends most of her time, preferably unclothed, on a tree that has magical properties that has to be kept from touching the ships technology, lest it disrupts it from working. Gyokuren suggests serving "fried dryad" as a celebratory meal when she refuses to stop propositioning Seina.
Cat Fairies
A race of fairies with cat bodies and wings, although they fly without moving them. They are generally the assistants of the group. They have a limited hive mind and can contact each other telepathically over sizable distances. They are a bit mischievous and like to spread gossip. They let Seina or others pet them if asked. Three of them make a brief appearance in the 4th episode of 5th season of Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki.
Jovia Jovis

A powerful magician on the planet that Seina gets stranded on, a planet in the Masui Kingdom. Not much is known about her yet. She presumably becomes Seina's magic teacher. According to what she says at different points in the 5th season of Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki, she married Seina while he was Renza.
Barigaru
A dwarf that takes care of Seina after he is stranded on the magic planet, Barrium. Barigaru paid his adventuring guild in order to take Seina in and holds this debt over his head. However, he seems to genuinely care for him, and by bringing him in to his house he probably saved him from being exploited by the others. Barigaru spent some time in space working with science and technology before returning to Barrium, his home world. He definitely suspects that Seina is from space but doesn't push him to talk about it and doesn't tell his suspicions to others.
Nana
Barigaru's familiar and household servant. A Kobold, but a subspecies that normally does not have human intelligence. His intelligence was heightened by Barigaru, who actually passes the knowledge of his previous servants to the next through the use of a magical auxiliary brain he invented. His mischevious but sweet personality is his own, though. He looks like an adorable young boy, but through the use of a magic stone that can fool people into mistaking his appearance, he often disguises himself. In fact, when he first met Seina he taking on the appearance of Seina. His name translates to "Seven," as he is the seventh servant of Barigaru.
Nayuta

Not from Renza or initially magical, she is Seina's digital assistant, a next generation version of an NB, designed by Washu, implanted in his skin and previously called his Philosopher's Stone. However, it was on Barrium where she was apparently affected by magic and developed a personality, probably an astral. Only Seina can see and hear her at this point. She can also simulate touching him. She considers Washu her creator and, like most every woman Seina meets, wants to be one of his wives. While on the planet, magic blocks her contact with the outside galaxy, but she can still scan nearby areas. She helps Seina develop his magic. Under normal circumstances, she would have full access to Washu's computer systems but on Barrium, she instead has made contact with the "Magical Elements personality realm" - the essence of the world's magic- which has a sort of personality of is own.

Airen

Souren's sister, an elf. her full name is Airen Kariyuuku Kaou. When introduced in a flash-forward, Airen is a military officer and the head of maintenance of armored calvary on the little visited planet Barrium. She is also a princess but low in succession. Seina landed on the planet because he heard from Souren that she was stationed there and he needed a safe haven. Unfortunately, after getting immediately sick and reliant on Barigaru he has been unable to find a way to contact her. In Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki OVA 5, her name is mentioned as someone who has joined Seina in the Galaxy Federation but would have to disguise her identity to come to Earth. When Jovia tells the story about her marrying Seina, she says she was a plus-one bench-warmer wife married to Seina in a package deal to a "great beauty,"- this great beauty would, presumably, be Airen.
Nagato
Airen's long suffering second in command, she is a lieutenant.
